Haytham Elhawary

Haytham Elhawary has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Haytham is currently Chief Strategy Officer and Co-founder at Kinetic Insurance. Prior to that, they were the CEO and Co-founder at KINETIC, where they developed wearable technology to reduce workplace injuries for frontline workers. Haytham worked as a theatre reviewer at Theatre is Easy from 2011 to 2021. Haytham also served as a Hardware Mentor in Residence at Indiegogo and as Executive Director at the Zahn Center for Entrepreneurship, City College New York, where they focused on supporting hardware startups. Haytham was a Mentor in Residence at R/GA and Techstars Accelerator and served as Program Leader at the Start-up Leadership Program. Haytham has also worked as a Senior Scientist at Philips Research North America and co-founded Hibergenica, a healthcare venture focused on organ preservation technology. Additionally, they have experience in due diligence for medical technology at Bioequity Capital.

Haytham Elhawary obtained their MEng degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering from the University of Navarra from 1998 to 2004. Haytham then pursued a PhD in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering at Imperial College London from 2004 to 2008.
