Valery Kot has a diverse work experience spanning from 1993 to 2019. Valery began their career as a Software Engineer at ABBYY, where they participated in the development of the FineReader 1.2-1.3 OCR system. Moving forward, Valery joined the Institute of Informatics Problems, Russian Academy of Sciences, as a Research Scientist in 1994. Valery was an integral part of the team that developed a fingerprint identification system widely used, including by the Moscow police department.

In 1999, Valery joined Spirit as a Senior Software Engineer. After a year, they transitioned to Mascot Systems, where they worked as a Software Engineer until 2002. Valery then joined Philips Research as a Research Scientist, focusing on their expertise in applied image processing until 2008.

Following their tenure at Philips Research, Valery worked at Civolution as a Lead DSP Software Engineer from 2008 to 2015. Their role included leading software engineering teams and contributing to the company's success in digital watermarking. Valery then joined 4C Insights in 2015 as a Lead Software Engineer, where they continued to make significant contributions until April 2019.

Most recently, Valery Kot joined Kinetiq in 2019 as a Lead Software Engineer, where they are currently employed.

Valery Kot obtained a Master of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) between the years 1988 and 1994.
