Sibte Burney MD has extensive experience in the medical field, currently serving as Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President of Medical Affairs, as well as Interim Chairman of the Department of Medicine at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center since 1983. Burney is also an Attending Physician and Consultant in Medicine at Kingsbrook. Additionally, since 2010, Burney has been an Expert Consultant of Infectious Diseases for the Office of Professional Medical Conduct. Previous roles include Medical Director of Long Term Care Medicine at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center's Rutland Nursing Home and Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center School of Public Health. Burney's formal training includes a Fellowship in Infectious Diseases at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and several residency and chief residency positions at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center. Burney earned a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (M.B.B.S.) from Dow Medical College, University of Karachi.
