Christopher Gillies is the Chief of Medical & Academic Affairs at Kingston Health Sciences Centre (KHSC) and oversees the operational and academic components of physicians, residents/fellows, medical students and physician assistants within the hospital, along with Ambulatory Care Services, Admitting, Registration and Health Information Services. He has over 20 years progressive senior leadership experience in the health care sector and brings experience from serving in many roles as a previous Director of Medical Affairs, Regional Manager at the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), a Senior Director in the private sector, and has held number of positions within the Ontario Ministry of Health, which included a Senior Hospital Consultant and a member of the Supervisor/Investigator team which was appointed by the Cabinet of the Ontario Government to restructure a number of Ontario Hospitals.
He completed an Executive Leadership Program at Harvard University, holds a Masters Certificate in Health Care Management from York University, a Business Commerce (Hons) Degree from the University of Windsor and is a certified PMP.
Christopher is also the Co-Chair of the Ontario Hospital Association (OHA) Provincial Education Committee, Chair of the Education Health Human Resources Working Group for OHA and is a member of the Council of Ontario Faculties of Medicine Postgraduate Medical Education Committee. He is also a facilitator/lecturer for Saegis Solutions, which is a subsidiary of the Canadian Medical Protective Association (CMPA) that provides specialized, in-depth professional development programs.
