Mark Bechter

Mark Bechter has extensive work experience in the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry. Mark currently serves as the VP of Medical Operations and Patient Advocacy at Kiniksa Pharmaceuticals. Prior to this, they held the position of VP of Medical Affairs at Aeglea BioTherapeutics from June 2018 to January 2023. Before joining Aeglea BioTherapeutics, Mark worked as the Medical Director UK, Ireland, and Nordics at Baxter Healthcare Limited from June 2017 to May 2018. Mark has also served as the Chief Medical Officer at Precision Medicine Catapult from February 2017 to June 2017. Mark has experience in international roles as well, having worked as the Head of Medical Affairs - International at Amicus Therapeutics from August 2015 to January 2017 and as the Vice President - EU Medical Affairs at Synageva BioPharma Corp. from February 2015 to August 2015. Additionally, they have held roles as the Medical Director UK at Synageva BioPharma Corp., Chiesi Group, and Novartis. Mark's earlier positions include being the Global Medical Director and Medical Director at Baxter Healthcare from 2006 to 2011 and the Medical Director at Baxter BioScience from 2005 to 2008.

Mark Bechter attended the University of Southampton from 1992 to 1997, where they obtained a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree in the field of Medicine. Prior to that, they attended Bishop Wordsworth's School in Salisbury.
