Shemika Blocker

Shemika Blocker has a diverse work experience spanning different roles and industries. Shemika is currently the Director of Operations at KIPP Nashville Public Schools since June 2022. Previously, they worked as the Assistant Principal of Operations at Intrepid College Prep from July 2020 to June 2022. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Operations at LEAD Public Schools from July 2015 to July 2020, where they played a key role in the school's expansion and managed various operational aspects. Shemika also worked as an Operations Manager/Title I Coordinator at New Vision Academy from May 2012 to July 2015. Their experience at New Vision, Inc. as Home Study Program Coordinator from May 2008 to May 2012 involved developing and managing a home study program. In addition to their work experience, Shemika is a published author of a book titled "Behind These Eyes I Hurt: 8 Years of Life, Love, and Lessons".

Shemika Blocker completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry from Tennessee State University between 2003 and 2008. Shemika then pursued a Master of Social Work degree with a focus on Management, Leadership, and Community Practice from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, from 2009 to 2012.
