Damion Clark

Damion Clark has extensive work experience in the education field. Damion started their career at Georgia State University in 2003 as an Instructor and later moved to the University of Maryland College Park, where they worked as an Instructor from 2006 to 2010. In 2011, Clark joined Democracy Prep Public Schools as a High School English Teacher and Department Chair. Damion created and taught various English courses, managed a team of 8 teachers, and led the English department in vertical alignment.

In 2014, Clark joined KIPP Public Schools Northern California as a High School English Teacher and Department Chair. Damion taught multiple English courses, including AP classes, and managed a team of 8 teachers. In 2016, they also started working at KIPP Foundation as a Curriculum Developer - Consultant, where they helped develop the AP for All High School English curriculum and coached teachers and administrators on its implementation.

Clark's roles expanded at KIPP Public Schools Northern California, where they became an Assistant Principal in 2016. In this role, they managed and coached 7 teachers, worked on student culture and discipline, and served as the testing coordinator and 12th grade level chair. In 2018, they became the Associate Director of High School Academics, responsible for overseeing high school academics at the school. Recently, in 2021, Clark was promoted to Director of Academics at KIPP Public Schools Northern California.

Damion Clark has an extensive education history in the field of English Language and Literature. Damion first attended Georgia State University from 1999 to 2003, earning a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English Language and Literature. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in the same field from Georgia State University from 2003 to 2005. Damion then went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Maryland between 2005 and 2013.
