Content Specialist Of Student Supports at KIPP Northern California

Violet Leitch has extensive experience in the education field, having worked in various teaching and support roles. Violet started their career as a Sales Associate at PJ's soccer and lacrosse Store in 2010. In 2011, they became a Varsity Soccer Player at the University of Richmond Women's Soccer team. In 2012, they worked as a Help Desk Intern at Team Askin Technologies Inc., assisting with computer problems and data entry tasks. From 2013 to 2014, they served as an Intern at Clarity Technology Partners.

Their teaching career began in 2014 when they worked as a Summer Teacher at Higher Achievement, teaching social studies to 5th and 6th grade students. Violet also served as a Mentor at Higher Achievement during the same period. In 2015, they joined ReNEW Schools Charter Management Organization as a 5th Grade Special Education Teacher and Case Manager. Violet provided academic, behavioral, social, and emotional support to their students.

In 2016, Violet became a 5th Grade English Language Arts Teacher at ReNEW Schools Charter Management Organization, where they differentiated student work based on their reading and writing levels. Violet worked there until 2017 when they transitioned to a position as a Special Education Teacher Case-Manager for 6th - 8th grade students at the same organization. In this role, they focused on reading, writing, and ELA instruction for students with mild to moderate disabilities.

Violet's experience in special education continued when they joined Teach For America as a Special Education Teacher from 2015 to 2017. Their responsibilities included providing accommodations and services to their students.

Most recently, Violet worked at KIPP Public Schools Northern California as a Content Specialist of Student Supports starting in June 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Special Education Teacher at the same organization since July 2018. Their career has thus far been dedicated to supporting and educating students with disabilities, with a focus on their academic and social-emotional growth.

Violet Leitch completed their high school education at George Mason High School from 2007 to 2011. Violet then enrolled in the University of Richmond from 2011 to 2015, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies. Additionally, in 2013, they participated in a semester study abroad program in International Studies, Spanish, and Education at Pontificia Universidad Católica Madre y Maestra through CIEE.
