Leanne Hernandez has a diverse work experience background. Leanne started their career at the US Census Bureau as a Foreign Trade Statistician, where they assisted in producing monthly U.S. foreign trade statistics. Leanne then moved on to the Legislative Budget Board, where they worked as an Analyst in both Business and Economic Development and Public Education. In these roles, they conducted extensive data analysis and served as the fiscal note coordinator for the Public Education Team.

After that, Leanne joined IDEA Public Schools, starting as the Manager of Special Projects before progressing through various roles. Leanne served as the Chief of Staff, supporting the CEO and senior leadership team, and played a crucial role in renewing IDEA's Texas charter. Leanne then became the Director of Financial Planning, leading the Financial Planning Team and partnering with the Vice President of Finance. Leanne then took on the position of Vice President of Financial Planning, where they established short and long-term financial strategies and built balanced budgets to support academic performance and the expansion of schools and regions. Leanne also served as the Interim Co-Chief Financial Officer, taking on additional responsibilities such as treasury, risk management, compliance change management, and executive team collaboration.

Currently, Leanne works at the KIPP Foundation as the Chief Financial Officer, where they oversee the Finance team and is responsible for financial strategy and advising the executive team and fiduciary boards.

Leanne Hernandez pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at The University of Texas at Dallas from 2004 to 2008. Subsequently, they attended The Johns Hopkins University from 2009 to 2010 and obtained a Master of Arts degree in Applied Economics.
