Caprecia Camper-Young

Caprecia Camper-Young has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Caprecia began their career as an Independent Contractor for the USDA Forest Service in 2012. This was followed by a position as a Political Field Director for Bill Batey for Assembly, Sixty-First District. In 2013, they held roles as an ASP Co-Coordinator at UCSD Student Promoted Access Center for Education and Service, as well as an Inspire Intern for the ACLU of San Diego & Imperial Counties. In 2014, Caprecia served as an Intern for the Office of Congresswoman Karen Bass and as a Program Assistant, AmeriCorps Member. Caprecia then transitioned to teaching roles, starting as a Kindergarten Teacher at KIPP DC from 2015 to 2016. The following year, they became a Lead Teacher in a General Education Inclusion Classroom at BRIDGES PUBLIC CHARTER SCHOOL. In 2017, Caprecia joined KIPP LA Public Schools as a Reading Intervention Teacher. Their most recent work experience is as a Judicial Extern at the 2nd District Court of Appeals, starting in 2023. Throughout their career, Caprecia has demonstrated strong skills in collaboration, individualized student support, parent engagement, and public service.

Caprecia Camper-Young is currently pursuing a Doctor of Law - JD Candidate degree at Loyola Law School, Los Angeles from 2021 to 2025. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts - BA in Political Science/Public Policy from UC San Diego, which they completed from 2011 to 2014. In terms of additional certifications, they obtained the LexisNexis Certification Part 2: Practice-Ready Certification and the LexisNexis Proficiency Certification in March 2022. Caprecia also holds a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing, which they obtained in March 2019.
