Nick Buhlman, P.Eng, is a seasoned mining engineer with extensive experience in strategic planning and mine engineering. Currently serving as Senior Engineer, Strategic Planning at Kirkland Lake Gold since October 2020, Nick provides expertise gained through previous roles at Detour Gold Corporation as Senior Mine Engineer and Mine Planner, as well as at Taseko: Gibraltar Mine, where responsibilities included drill and blast engineering and long-range planning. Notable achievements include leading initiatives that resulted in significant operational efficiencies, such as a 10% increase in shovel dig rates during a tailored loading project. Nick began their career with roles at Modular Mining Systems, Teck Resources Limited, MMM Group, and Suncor Energy. Holding a B.Sc in Mining Engineering from Queen's University, Nick has a comprehensive background in mine operations, project management, and technical support.
