Florian Bauer, Ph.D.

Florian Bauer, Ph.D. has held a variety of professional roles since 2007. In 2007, they served as an Alternative Service for ASB Eisenach. In 2008, they were a Cabin-Counselor for Camp Jewell YMCA. From 2010 to 2011, they were a Tutor for Information Technology I for the Renewable Energies course at Fachhochschule Bielefeld, University of Applied Sciences. From 2011 to 2012, they were a Bachelor Student for AREVA Wind GmbH. From 2012 to 2014, they were a Student Employee for AREVA Wind GmbH. In 2014, they were a Visiting Researcher at UC Irvine and a Researcher/PhD Student at Technical University of Munich. Since 2018, they have been the CTO & Cofounder of kiteKRAFT.

Florian Bauer, Ph.D. has a long educational history. Florian began their studies in 1999 at Elisabeth Gymnasium Eisenach, where they obtained their Abitur in 2007. Florian then went on to Fachhochschule Bielefeld, University of Applied Sciences, Germany where they earned their Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) in Renewable Energies in 2012. After that, they attended Technical University of Munich, where they earned their Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology in 2013. In 2019, they attended Y Combinator, where they received their YC Batch S19 certification. Finally, they returned to Technical University of Munich, where they earned their Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Airborne Wind Energy in 2020.
