Lead Product Manager at Kitman Labs

Mark McCaffrey has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Mark began their career in 2009 as a Research Student at the National University of Ireland, Galway, where they focused on energy inputs and GHG emissions in the cement manufacturing industry. Mark also served as a part-time lecturer, teaching B. Eng students on the topics of concrete durability and environmental LCA.

In 2011, Mark joined Enerit Ltd as a Business Analyst and later became a Product Owner within an agile scrum team. Mark managed internal stakeholder expectations, communicated the product vision, created user stories, and prioritized the product backlog. Mark also led UX research and design projects and collaborated with sales, marketing, and R&D teams.

Mark then worked at SPIE-ENS as a Business Analyst, where they conducted a needs assessment and managed the design and development of surveying and material calculation programs. Mark temporarily led a team of surveyors to guide change management to tablet devices, enabling the team to achieve their target.

From 2014 to 2015, Mark worked as a Research Assistant at NUI Galway, contributing to the Waternomics project, which focused on using ICT for water resource management and leak detection.

In 2016, Mark joined University College Cork, Ireland (UCC) as a UX Research and Designer. Mark implemented Agile Scrum and Lean UX processes, elicited user requirements, facilitated design workshops, and conducted usability tests. Mark also developed data visualizations and responsive webpages.

Mark then moved on to MyComplianceOffice in 2017, taking on the role of UI-UX Product Manager. Mark worked on user interface and experience design and served as a Business Analyst.

Most recently, Mark has been with Kitman Labs, starting as a Product Manager in 2019 and progressing to Senior and Lead Product Manager roles. In this company, they have contributed to product management and led product teams.

Mark McCaffrey began their education at Rice College in Westport from 1999 to 2005, where they studied English, Maths, Physics, Technical Graphics, Construction Studies, and French. Following this, from 2005 to 2009, they attended the University of Galway and obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering. Mark continued their education at the same university from 2009 to 2011, earning a Master's degree in Environmental Engineering through a research-focused program. In addition to their academic achievements, Mark McCaffrey has obtained several certifications, including Online UX Training from UXTraining.com in May 2016, Machine Learning through Coursera Course Certificates in April 2016, and Professional Scrum Master (PSM I) from Scrum.org in March 2016.
