Christopher Blanks

Christopher Blanks has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Christopher started their career as a Media Lab Director at the University of Washington, where they managed computing resources and served as the department's webmaster. Christopher then worked at the Institute for Systems Biology as a Help Desk Manager and Systems Administrator, where they handled system deployments, configurations, and support.

Christopher then joined Tableau Software as a Senior Systems Engineer and Administrator. In this role, they served as the architect for development systems and underlying infrastructure, acted as the chief engineer for build machines and build check-in processes, and also worked as a principal database administrator.

After that, they worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Helion OpenStack Engineer, providing level 3 support for HPE OpenStack and Stackato applications. Christopher investigated bugs and issues with customer environments related to their Helion OpenStack infrastructure.

Following their time at Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Christopher joined AT&T as a Cloud Storage Engineer. Christopher provided upper-tier support and deployment of storage infrastructure and applications for the AIC OpenStack and VMWare Labs, while also offering consultation on integrating compute and storage elements.

Christopher then worked at Wargaming as a Senior Systems Engineer and Administrator. Christopher served as the senior engineer and architect for storage, virtualization, and networking of upper IO systems. Christopher also acted as the site contact in the global organization for DevOps to SystemOps collaboration and mentored junior systems administrators.

After that, they joined BMW Group as an OpenStack Engineer Consultant, where they handled second-level engineering support for OpenStack towers across different regions. Christopher worked on troubleshooting calls and deployments of various components.

In 2019, Christopher joined Aetna as a Senior Engineering Consultant. Christopher provided third-level engineering support for Windows/Linux-based SaaS systems and developed an Active Directory domain for vendor-specific production systems.

Their most recent position is at Kitsap Credit Union as a Senior System Engineer, where they serve as the principal engineer for higher-order I/O systems and major internal banking systems. Christopher is the main source for inter-system applications, Active Directory 2016, and controls HA and DR for NetApp filers.

Christopher Blanks attended the University of Washington from 1991 to 1998. Christopher earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Aerospace, Aeronautical and Astronautical/Space Engineering. In addition, they also obtained another Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Physics from the same institution during the same time period.
