Liang Zhai

Liang Zhai, Ph.D., is an experienced planner and transportation analyst currently working at Kittelson & Associates, Inc. since June 2022, where development of machine learning models for truck volume prediction and statewide transportation analysis networks has been a focus. Prior to this role, Liang Zhai worked at Lee County as a transportation data analyst, facilitating transit data reporting to the National Transit Database. Academic background includes a Ph.D. in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Florida, where significant research on machine learning applications related to traffic safety was conducted. Liang Zhai also holds a Master’s in Geography from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and a Bachelor's in Environmental Science from Minzu University of China, complemented by an exchange program at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
