Richard Carter-Brown, CFA has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Richard started their career as a Junior Development Economist at Urban Econ EC in 2007. In 2008, they joined Rand Merchant Bank as a Corporate Dealer and worked until 2011. From 2013 to 2013, they were a Research Analyst at Grindrod Trading. In 2014, Richard worked as a Credit Analyst at World Fuel Services until 2015. Richard then joined Nolan Real Estate Services as an Investment Analyst from 2015 to 2018. From 2018 to 2022, Richard worked at SelectQuote Insurance Services, initially as a Financial Analyst, then as a Senior Financial Analyst, and finally as the Director of Finance. Currently, they hold the position of Director Finance at Kiva since November 2022.
Richard Carter-Brown, CFA, holds a Master of Science (MS) degree in Finance and Economic Development from the University of Glasgow, which they obtained in 2012. Prior to that, they completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) in Economics at Nelson Mandela University in 2007. Richard also holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom) degree with a focus in Economics, Accountancy, and Management from Rhodes University, which they earned between 2003 and 2006. In addition to their academic achievements, Richard obtained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charterholder certification from the CFA Institute in 2013 and an ACI Dealing Certificate from the ACI The Financial Markets Association in 2008.
