Chee-Wei Tan

Chee-Wei Tan is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in optoelectronics and semiconductor industries. Currently serving as Head of Engineering at KLA since January 2019, Chee-Wei previously held leadership positions such as Engineering Director at OCLARO and Director of Product Engineering at Finisar Corporation. Additional roles include Engineering Development Manager at JDSU, Director of NPI & Engineering Operations at Sanmina-SCI Optical Technology, and Senior Research Engineer at the Institute of Microelectronics, focusing on Silicon Photonics and Optical Interconnects. Career beginnings include R&D Manager at Photonic Manufacturing Service and Process Engineer at ON Semiconductor, specializing in copper wire bonding technology development. Chee-Wei holds a PhD in Electronics Engineering from City University of Hong Kong and both BSc (Hon) and MSc degrees in Materials Science from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia.
