Akshay Sharma

Akshay Sharma is a Machine Learning Engineer II at Klarity, specializing in OCR technology and multimodal extraction since May 2022. Prior to this role, Akshay served as a Graduate Research Assistant at Columbia University, where responsibilities included teaching Natural Language Processing. Experience at Rejoy Health involved collaborating with mobile app teams on technical solutions and process automation. Akshay contributed to Google Summer of Code by designing a differentiable optimization package in Julia and completed a summer analyst position at Goldman Sachs, focusing on developing scalable micro-services. Earlier roles include co-founding PrepGuide, interning at Adobe to enhance CNN-RNN architectures, and creating an Android SDK for object pose detection. Akshay holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science with an NLP track from Columbia University and a Dual Degree in Computational and Applied Mathematics from IIT (BHU), Varanasi.
