Sheila Hamlett

Sheila Hamlett has over 20 years of work experience in various roles related to food safety and environmental health & safety. Sheila started their career as a Zookeeper and Show Staff at Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens in 1997. Sheila then worked as a Food Safety Specialist at Zachary Confections, Inc. from 2009 to 2011. From 2003 to 2009, they worked as a Commissary Manager at Indianapolis Zoological Society. In 1999, they joined the US Army as a Food Safety Specialist/Animal Care Specialist, where they were responsible for conducting inspections and audits related to food safety for military bases worldwide. Sheila served 4 years on active duty and 11 years in the Reserves. Most recently, Sheila has been working at KLN Family Brands since 2011. Sheila started as a Corporate Food Safety Director and is currently serving as the Senior Director of Food Safety and Environmental, Health & Safety. Sheila'sresponsibilities include developing and implementing food safety programs, conducting internal and external audits, and ensuring compliance with regulations.

Sheila Hamlett pursued their education at the University of Minnesota-Morris from 1993 to 1997. There, they obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Biology, with a focus on General Biology. Following this, from 2008 to 2011, Sheila attended Kansas State University, where they earned a Master's Degree in Food Science.
