Andrew Schneider, Jr.

Andrew Schneider, Jr. has a diverse work experience in the field of broadcasting and journalism. Andrew started their career in 2006 as an On-Air Announcer for KCII Radio, where they provided color commentary and play-by-play for IMS/Mid-Prairie Summer Sports. Andrew also read and wrote news, calendar weather, and sports stories live on-air. In 2008, they served as a Public Announcer for Washington High School in Washington, IA.

From 2011 to 2013, Andrew took on various roles at Iowa State University, including being the General Manager and President of ISUtv during the 2012-13 academic year. Andrew managed the day-to-day operations of the club and hosted their live weekly sports show. Andrew also directed news team members, produced video packages, and produced ISUtv's daily news show "Newswatch 18" during the 2011-12 academic year. Additionally, they worked as a Sports Correspondent for KURE 88.5, where they assisted in the production of live weekly sports shows.

In 2012, Andrew interned at Cyclones.tv, where they provided play-by-play and color commentary for Iowa State Softball, filmed highlights and recapped live Cyclone sporting events, and interviewed student athletes and coaches for self-produced features.

From 2011 to 2013, Andrew was a Videographer for the Greenlee School of Journalism at Iowa State University. Andrew shot instruction videos for online Ag Communications courses and helped shoot and edit videos for presentations and class lectures.

In 2013, Andrew worked as a Video Editor for WHO-HD, where they edited various television news packages, SOTs, and voiceover stories for live broadcasts. Andrew also recorded live satellite feeds from the field and worked as a part-time photojournalist, shooting stories for weekend news and sportscasts.

Also in 2013, Andrew served as a Cyclones.tv play-by-play broadcaster for the Iowa State Athletics Department. Andrew was the play-by-play broadcaster for Iowa State Cyclones softball and soccer and occasionally filled in on other Cyclones.tv broadcasts.

Andrew's most recent role, which started in 2014, was as the Pella News and Sports Director for KNIA/KRLS Radio. Andrew reported local news daily in Pella, Iowa, and was in charge of organizing daily news outlines, conducting and recording interviews, and writing and editing stories for daily news programs and online formats. Andrew also worked as a play-by-play announcer for Pella and Pella Christian high school sports.
