Carly Harrington

Carly Irion Harrington serves as the Chief Communications Officer and Chief Public Affairs Officer at Knox County Schools since September 2016, previously holding the position of Director of Public Affairs. Prior experience includes serving as Director of Branded Content at Fletcher Marketing PR and various roles at Knoxville News Sentinel, including Multimedia Journalist and Online Producer, where responsibilities encompassed generating news stories, managing website content, and engaging audiences through social media. Earlier in their career, Carly worked as a Reporter at The Tennessean and in its Williamson A.M. edition, as well as at The Review Appeal, focusing on local government, schools, and community development issues. Carly earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism with a minor in Business from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, between 1993 and 1998.
