Cericia is interested in using data science approaches to integrate and interpret geoscience data. Her research has focused on turning geophysical data into geological models of the subsurface. Most recently, Cericia was a Research Scientist with CSIRO Mineral Resources where her efforts focused on acquiring reliable petrophysical data with the aim of fusing measurements with geophysical models. Prior to that, she was a postdoctoral researcher with CSIRO’s Deep Earth Imaging Future Science Platform developing a new geophysical crustal imaging algorithm.
In 2015, Cericia was awarded a Mendenhall Fellowship at the U.S. Geological Survey where she implemented a modeling approach to quantify the potential impacts of developing unconventional petroleum resources given probabilistic models of the undiscovered subsurface petroleum potential. Cericia received her Ph.D. in Geophysics from the Colorado School of Mines where her research focused on processing, inversion, and interpretation of airborne gravity gradient data.
