Vygintas Ranonis

Senior Frontend Developer at KodyPay

Vygintas Ranonis has been working in the tech industry since 2010. Vygintas started their career at VYRE as a Senior Front-end Developer and Team Leader, where they managed a team of three developers, devising and enforcing best practices, providing coaching and code reviews, and conducting knowledge sharing sessions. Vygintas then moved to North Plains Systems as a Web Application Developer for On Brand, a web-based marketing resource management tool. There, they maintained and improved the existing codebase, designed and implemented granular user permissions, refactored the codebase to address technical debt and modernise the product, introduced unit tests, improved source control, workflow, and deployment, and implemented a dashboard page with draggable, customisable widgets. In 2014, Ranonis joined Kami LTD as a Frontend Engineer, where they were responsible for building the front end of the company’s product - an application builder that required no coding experience and allowed instant deployment. Vygintas designed and implemented an in-house JavaScript framework for rendering the application, worked on the AngularJS based editor interface, improved infrastructure, and implemented visual designs using SASS. In 2015, they moved to Thomas Cook Group as a Front End Developer, where they worked in the My Account section of the company's holiday booking website, powered by the MEAN stack. Vygintas implemented new features, addressed technical debt in the AngularJS codebase, improved multi-market features and email templating architecture in the Node.js backend, and modularised the style codebase across the application. Finally, Ranonis is currently working as a Senior Frontend Developer at KodyPay since 2021.

Vygintas Ranonis obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Business Administration from LCC International University, Lithuania in 2006. Vygintas then went on to pursue an MSc in Computer Science from Birkbeck, University of London, which they completed in 2011. In 2012, they obtained a Software as a Service certification from edX.
