Isa Farnik

Isa Farnik has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. They started their career as a Pre-Pressman at Savage Color, where they managed, corrected, proofed, stripped, and plated client jobs. They then worked as a Rental Technician at New Stevens LLC for a brief period.

Isa transitioned to the tech industry with a role as a Test Associate I at Microsoft, where they were involved in play-test issues with Fable III on the Xbox 360 platform. They logged bugs, identified complex multiplayer issues, and verified localized content. They later joined Warner Bros. Games as a Quality Assurance Analyst.

In 2011, Isa enrolled as a student at Seattle Central Community College. After completing their studies, Isa joined Isilon Systems as a Product Support Engineer, where they provided support for company products.

Isa then joined Chef Software, first as a Customer Onboarding Engineer and later as a Software Engineer. In these roles, they built and maintained Chef-provisioned Jenkins-based build/package/release pipelines and integrated AIX and Solaris platforms. They educated core developers on automated build-pipelines and resolved pipeline-related issues.

Isa's next role was as an Infrastructure Engineer at Limelight Networks, where they contributed to infrastructure management. They then joined LabKey as a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer. In this position, they supported LabKey's internal and customer-facing infrastructure, introduced a container-based approach to cloud hosting, and automated build/test infrastructure.

Currently, Isa works as a Senior Software Engineer at Kong Inc., where they are involved in software development.

Isa Farnik began their education in 2007 at Cornish College of the Arts, where they pursued a field of study in Visual Communication. This education lasted until 2009, although they did not obtain a specific degree. They later attended Seattle Central College from 2011 to 2013, earning an Associate of Science (AS) degree in Bioengineering. In addition to their formal education, Isa obtained the Kong Gateway Foundations certification from Kong Inc. in July 2022.
