Amber Kapas

Amber Kapas has extensive experience in the fashion industry, starting in 2010 as a Fashion Design and Merchandising student. Amber then worked as an intern at National Safety Apparel, where they updated Gerber CAD markers for shop orders. Amber also worked as an Assistant Manager at Halloween City, where they were responsible for building and executing the layout of the store. Amber then joined Virginia Marti College of Art and Design as a Fashion Design and Merchandising Coordinator, where they showcased their skills in fashion show production and fashion product development. Afterward, they worked at The Buckle as a Floor Lead and Seamstress, taking on leadership responsibilities such as recruiting and sales planning. Amber then joined Catan Fashions as a Bridal Stylist, handling gown special orders and sales goals. Amber later worked at VF Corporation Jeanswear as a Pattern Maker, using CAD software to develop virtual prototypes and assist in team development. Amber then moved on to a role at Greensboro Fashion Week as a Designer & Model Manager, overseeing a team of emerging designers and models. Before their current position as a Lead Technical Designer at Kontoor Brands, Inc., they owned their own designer wrestling attire business at 71 Customs. In their current role, Amber leads a team and is responsible for product category ownership and development using virtual fit and construction prototypes. Overall, Amber Kapas has demonstrated a strong background in fashion design, merchandising, pattern making, and leadership.

Amber Kapas has a diverse education history. Amber obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree with a focus on Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2024. Prior to that, they earned an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in the same field of study from Guilford Technical Community College from 2018 to 2020. In 2014, they attended The North Coast College and obtained an Associates degree of applied Business in Fashion Merchandising. Amber also holds an Associate's degree in Fashion Design from Virginia Marti College of Art and Design, which they completed from 2010 to 2013. Amber received their high school diploma from Hoover High School in 2010. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Leadership Greensboro from the Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, V-Stitcher August Edition from Browzwear, and V-Stitcher 7.5 also from Browzwear.
