Ellen Schmidt

Principal Scientist at Korro Bio

Ellen Schmidt has worked in a variety of roles in the scientific field since 2008. Ellen began their career as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, followed by a Graduate Student Research Assistant at the University of Michigan Medical School in 2011. In 2014, they served as a Computational Biology Intern at Biogen. From 2016 to 2017, they worked as a Statistical Geneticist at the University of Michigan School of Public Health, followed by a Computational Biologist at Open Targets from 2017 to 2018. From 2018 to 2020, they were a Postdoctoral Research Associate, Queens' College Cambridge at the University of Cambridge. Currently, they are a Senior Scientist and Scientist at Vesalius Therapeutics, and will soon take on the role of Principal Scientist at Korro Bio, Inc. in 2022.

Ellen Schmidt obtained their Ph.D. in Bioinformatics from the University of Michigan Medical School, their M.S. in Biostatistics from the University of Michigan School of Public Health, and their B.S. in Biology and Mathematics (minor) from SUNY Geneseo.
