Maria Miller is KQED's Chief Operations and Administration Officer. She is responsible for organizational operations and ensuring the efficient and effective performance of KQED. Maria's portfolio includes television and radio engineering and operations, information security and technology, facilities, safety, human resources, DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion), employment law, labor relations, venue and event services and strategic partnerships.
Maria's role focuses on prioritizing intradepartmental and interdepartmental operations to facilitate a high-performing and client-focused culture across KQED's core operations. She joined KQED in June of 2016, as Vice President, Human Resources & Chief Labor and Employment Counsel.
Maria began her career as an attorney litigating and practicing labor and employment law. She transitioned into leadership, human resources and operational responsibilities in 2010 during her prior roles with ABM Industries and Bayer AG. Maria attended the University of San Francisco School of Law where she earned her Juris Doctorate degree, cum laude, and Santa Clara University where she graduated from the Honors Program with a B.S. in Political Science.
