Terry Roth Schaff has had a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of yoga therapy and teaching. Terry started their career in 2006 as a Yoga Teacher at Bard College and Sadhana Yoga Center. In 2007, they also served as a Yoga Teacher for the City of Hudson.
In 2009, Terry joined Arbor Ridge at Brookmeade Inc., where they led therapeutic chair yoga and water yoga programs for senior citizens. Terry worked closely with individuals with mobility and neurological impairments, providing one-on-one assistance.
Terry further expanded their expertise by becoming the Director of the Medical Yoga Therapy Department at Manhattan Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in 2010. Terry held this position until 2015, during which they also served as a Yoga Therapist and Educator. Additionally, Terry worked as a Children's Yoga Teacher for the Mental Health Association of Columbia-Greene Counties, Inc. from 2010 to 2011.
In 2012, Terry joined the Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health as a Leading Teacher, a role they still hold. Terry then became a Leading Teacher at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies in 2014. In this role, Terry not only leads therapeutic yoga workshops but also certifies yoga teachers as Warm Water Yoga instructors. The program they are associated with is registered as a member school with the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
Terry established their own company, Schaff Yoga Therapy, in 2016, where they serve as the President.
Throughout their career, Terry has demonstrated a strong commitment to promoting wellness and healing through yoga therapy.
Terry Roth Schaff obtained a Bachelor's degree in History and Philosophy of Science & Visual Arts from Hampshire College, where they studied from 1971 to 1975. Later, Terry attended Princeton University to further their education in History & Philosophy of Science.
