Tom Parsons

Tom Parsons has a diverse work experience spanning several companies and roles. Tom started their career as a Junior Front-end Developer at The Barn Agency, where they focused on website development for clients. Tom then worked at social startup SocialGO as a Junior Software Engineer, where they used Symfony and TWIG for front-end development.

Tom then joined myDogBuddy as a Software Engineer, where they worked as a Lead LEMP/Full Stack Developer. Tom also worked at Music Glue as a Software Engineer, focusing on customer-facing aspects of the business and transitioning to using modern technologies like React and Relay.

Tom's next role was at YourWelcome, where they started as a Software Engineer and later became a Lead Software Engineer.

At Perkbox, Tom was initially a Lead Software Engineer and later became a Tech Lead, managing projects and teams. Tom introduced new technologies like TypeScript and implemented changes to the code review and CI process. Tom also played a role in cultural changes at the company, such as organizing hack days.

Tom then joined Funding Options as an Engineering Manager / Lead Front End Engineer, before moving to Primer as a Team Lead. Currently, they are working as a Web platform tech lead at Kroo Bank.

Tom Parsons attended Hereford College of the Arts from 2005 to 2007, where they obtained a National Diploma in Music Practice. Following this, they enrolled in Buckinghamshire New University and graduated in 2010 with a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Marketing and Branding.
