Tom Thompson has worked for Krux Analytics Inc. since 2021, where they currently serve as Customer Support Manager. Tom's first role was Geological Technical Analyst, where they provided cutting-edge quality control, data processing, and interpretations for thousands of well data sets, managed data restoration and specialty analysis on multi-million dollar projects, and designed leaner workflows and improved turnaround time of project jobs by 33+%. Tom then served as Canada Interact Support Lead, where they liaised with clients, segment sales, and geomarket managers to ensure that all real-time data delivery went smoothly through the data system and reached the proper recipients. Tom also facilitated training seminars and provided technical support to clients and Schlumberger InterACT users on how to use the service and improve user efficiency. After this, Tom served as Data Communications Operations Lead, where they managed the day-to-day operations of the Canadian data center team with 12-20 technicians and 2-4 print clerks, and directed the creation, delivery, and storage of 50-3000 wells monthly in an extremely fast-paced environment. Tom then became Data Communications Technical Lead, where they oversaw the technical aspects of the data center including administering proprietary databases and real time systems, and trained and mentored new employees on the processes and software used by the data center. Tom then served as Data Communications Technician, where they monitored and maintained data flow from the field to Calgary while analyzing the data for proper government licensing, data integrity, and making sure it met client requirements and specifications. Tom also delivered to numerous clients while under strict time constraints in a fast-paced environment with zero mis-deliveries, and corrected incorrect raw and processed data to meet client expectations. Tom's last role at Schlumberger was Fracture Equipment Operator.
Tom Thompson obtained an Associate's Degree in Education from Red Deer Polytechnic and studied Liberal Arts and Sciences/Liberal Studies at the University of Calgary. In September 2020, they also obtained a certification in Programming for Everybody (Getting Started with Python) from Coursera.
