Clifford Michaels, PhD, CLP, RTTP, has a diverse work experience in the field of technology transfer and commercialization. Clifford is currently serving as the Executive Director at the Center for Technology Commercialization at The University of Kansas. Prior to this, they held positions at Georgia State University and Emory University, where they played key roles in technology transfer and licensing. Clifford also worked as a Consultant at Ripple Management. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated expertise in managing technology transfer offices and driving the commercialization of intellectual property.
Clifford Michaels holds a Ph.D. in Neuroscience/Pharmacology, which they obtained from Emory University between 2002 and 2007. Prior to that, they earned a B.S. in Neuroscience from Lafayette College, where they studied from 1998 to 2002. In addition to their academic achievements, Michaels holds certifications as a Certified Licensing Professional (CLP) from the Licensing Executives Society (U.S.A. and Canada), Inc., obtained in 2017, and as a Registered Technology Transfer Professional (RTTP) from the Association of Technology Transfer Professionals (RTTP), obtained in 2013.
