John Bales

John Bales is a seasoned legal professional with expertise in public finance, currently serving as a Partner in the Public Finance Practice Group at Kutak Rock since October 2014. Focused on diverse financing transactions, John has acted as bond counsel and has facilitated over $1.5 billion in financings for affordable housing and educational projects. Prior to this role, John worked as an Investment Analyst at the Charter School Growth Fund, where efforts supported high-performing charter school operators. John's earlier experience includes teaching high school mathematics with Teach for America, where significant improvements in student performance were achieved, as well as serving as a Law Clerk for the 17th Judicial District and providing legal counsel at the Notre Dame Legal Aid Clinic. John holds a JD from Notre Dame Law School and an MBA and BSBA in Data Mining and Statistics, respectively, from the University of Denver - Daniels College of Business.
