Jarkko Antila has over 20 years of work experience in the high-tech and deep-tech markets. In 2021, they became the Chief Executive Officer of Kuva Space. In 2020, they became the CEO and entrepreneur of Leaping Boulder, offering consultancy services especially for start-ups and early stage companies. In 2018, they became the Chairman Of The Board of Purpl Scientific, an innovation company dedicated to the evolution of the cannabis industry. In 2014, they became the Board Member and Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Spectral Engines, developing and delivering novel, miniaturised sensor solutions and related services. In 2009, they became the Product Line Manager, Microspectrometer Technologies (Senior Scientist) and Senior Research Scientist, Team Leader of VTT. In 2006, they became the R&D Manager of INFICON Aaland Ab, managing the R&D of ceramic vacuum sensors. In 1999, they became a Research Scientist at VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland.

Jarkko Antila began their educational journey in 1992 when they completed their High School degree at Tampereen lyseon lukio. Jarkko then attended Tampere University of Technology 1965-2018 from 1995 to 1998, though they did not receive a degree. In 2000 and 2001, they attended University of Strathclyde in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, though they did not receive a degree. Finally, they received their Master's degree in Optical Measurement Technologies and Space Technology from Teknillinen korkeakoulu-Tekniska högskolan in 2003.
