Felix Aguilar

Felix Aguilar, MD, MPH, MHCM has extensive work experience in the healthcare industry. Felix has held various leadership roles throughout their career, including Medical Director at L.A. Care Health Plan and Chinatown Service Center. At Chinatown Service Center, they spearheaded clinical care improvement and redesign, oversaw the delivery of medical services at a federally qualified health center, and directed a nurse practitioner residency program. Felix also has experience as a Medical Director at Blue Shield of California, AltaMed Health Services, and South Central Family Health Center. Additionally, they served as President and CEO of UMMA Community Clinic and held teaching positions at Keck School of Medicine and UC Irvine School of Medicine. Moreover, they worked as the Child Health and Disability Prevention Director for the City of Long Beach, where they expanded services for children with asthma and implemented strategic planning for childhood obesity. Throughout their career, Dr. Aguilar has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a commitment to improving healthcare delivery and access.

Felix Aguilar, MD, MPH, MHCM obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Biology/Biological Sciences from UC Irvine in 1986. Felix then received a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from Tulane University in 1987. In 1992, they completed their Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from UCI School of Medicine. Dr. Aguilar pursued their residency in Harbor-UCLA Family Medicine Residency Program from 1996 to 1999. Felix further underwent a Public Health and General Preventive Medicine Residency Program at the University of California, San Francisco, and California Department of Public Health from 1999 to 2000. In 2008, they completed a Health Care Leadership Fellowship as a Fellow in the California HealthCare Foundation at the University of California, San Francisco. Finally, in 2012, they earned a Master's degree in Health Care Management from Harvard University. Dr. Aguilar has additional certifications including Family Medicine Certification, Diplomate of the American Board of Family Medicine, Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Certificate, and a Medical License from the State of California.
