David Nylund is a Professor at California State University, Sacramento, since August 2003, and serves as a Board Member for the Restorative Schools Vision Project and Clinical Director at the Gender Health Center, both from January 2012 and July 2010 respectively. Additionally, David Nylund has been a Faculty member at the Vancouver School for Narrative Therapy since March 2008 and a Clinical Supervisor at La Familia Counseling Center, Inc. since July 1998. David Nylund has maintained a private practice in individual, couples, and family therapy since 1988, focusing on a strengths-based, collaborative model. Previous experience includes roles as a Clinical Supervisor at Empower Yolo, Clinical Social Worker at Kaiser Permanente, and Clinical Social Worker for San Joaquin County Mental Health. Academically, David Nylund earned a PhD in Cultural Studies/Critical Theory and Analysis from the University of California, Davis, an MSW in Mental Health Counseling from California State University-Sacramento, and a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice and Corrections from Michigan State University.
