Desire Johnson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in youth empowerment and community engagement. Currently serving as the Executive Director of The B.I.Z. Stoop since January 2015, Johnson focuses on increasing the life expectancy of Black youth through career pathway development. In addition to this role, Johnson is a DAJA Program Associate at La Familia Counseling Service, facilitating a learning experience for high school students interested in law and social justice. Previous positions include Grantee Liaison for The Pollination Project, promoting youth-led initiatives, and Downtown TAY Program Manager at the Health and Human Resource Education Center, supporting at-risk young adults. Johnson holds a Bachelor of Arts in English Language and Literature with an emphasis in Creative Writing from Mills College.
