Enrique Montero is a research professor at the Beckman Research Institute, City of Hope National Medical Center since 2016, leading innovative projects aimed at treating Type 1 Diabetes and inflammatory diseases through advanced cellular therapies and monoclonal antibodies. Alongside this role, Montero has been a visiting scientist at the La Jolla Institute for Allergy and Immunology since 2015 and served as Chief Scientific Officer for Experimental Immunology at Biocon from 2010 to 2015. Montero also held the position of Department Head for Experimental Immunotherapy at the Center of Molecular Immunology from 1994 to 2015, where Montero contributed as a founding member. Additional experience includes professorships and research roles in various esteemed institutions including the Superior Institute of Medical Science and the Weizmann Institute of Science. Montero's educational background encompasses a Doctor of Philosophy in Immunology and dual specialist degrees in Basic and Clinical Immunology from institutions in Havana, Cuba, complemented by a Doctor of Medicine degree.
