Jeremy Shek is currently a Graduate Student Researcher at the La Jolla Institute for Immunology since May 2021, following a role as an Undergraduate Researcher at the University of California, Los Angeles from August 2018 to June 2020. During this time, Jeremy contributed to the development of a high-throughput screening platform for selective caspase inhibitors and utilized techniques such as combinatorial chemistry and solid-phase peptide synthesis. Additionally, Jeremy interned at BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. in the summer of 2019, where various chromatography and analytical techniques were employed to purify coagulation factor VIII and assess ligand-receptor binding using biolayer interferometry. Jeremy holds a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry from UCLA and is currently pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Biomedical Sciences at UC San Diego, anticipated from 2020 to 2025.
