Benjamin Klaus

Benjamin Klaus has an extensive career in education, starting as an Intervention Teacher in Santa Barbara Unified School District in 2003. Benjamin then transitioned to San Francisco Unified School District, where they held roles as an Elementary Classroom Teacher, Instructional Reform Facilitator, Assistant Principal, and ultimately, Principal from 2004 to 2023. Currently, they serve as the Principal of La Mesa-Spring Valley School District.

Benjamin Klaus earned a Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from UC Irvine in 1999. Benjamin further pursued a Master of Arts in Elementary Education and Teaching at the University of California, Santa Cruz in 2003-2004. Subsequently, they obtained a Master of Arts in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of California, Berkeley in 2009-2010. To enhance their expertise, Benjamin completed a Micro-Credential in Educational Leadership at the College of Education at East Carolina University in 2020. Additionally, they engaged in field studies at the School for International Training in Ghana, West Africa in 1998.
