Javier Martínez Gómez's work experience includes various roles and responsibilities in different companies. Javier is currently serving as the Chief Digital & Customer Officer at La Vanguardia, where their main goals are to achieve a portfolio of over 100K digital subscribers in two years and to secure the first position in the official ranking of audiences in Spain. Prior to this, they worked as a Professor at EADA Business School. Javier has also served as the Managing Director at BARCELONA SUSCRIPCIONES PRESS MEDIA SL, where they managed the customer portfolio of La Vanguardia and Mundo Deportivo. In this role, they led a multidisciplinary team and achieved a portfolio of over 60K subscribers in the first year. Earlier in their career, Javier worked at La Vanguardia as the Chief Digital Officer, where they led the organization's transformation from a regional to a national newspaper and launched a successful subscription model. Javier also served as the Digital Strategy and Audiences Director, where they set the company's digital transformation strategy and promoted a data-driven culture. Prior to joining La Vanguardia, Javier worked at Cubigel Compressors as the Supply Chain Manager, overseeing purchasing, inventory, and vendor selection, and at Mecalux Warehouse Solutions as a Project Member.
Javier Martínez Gómez has an extensive education history. In 1995, they graduated from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona with a degree in Physics. Javier then pursued an Engineer's degree in Electronic Engineering from the same university, completing it in 2002. In 2003, Javier obtained a Master's degree in Supply Chain Management from ICIL. Additionally, they completed a DBA certification from DBA Oracle in 2003. In 2018, they attended Esade and Columbia University, where they completed an Executive Master in Business Analytics and a Seminar in Data Analytics for Management, respectively.
