Miguel Illescas is a distinguished figure in the world of chess and technology, currently serving as a speaker at Ajedrez y Empresa since 2007 and as a collaborator at La Vanguardia since 2006, where Miguel Illescas formulates daily chess problems for the puzzles section. With an extensive background in chess journalism, Miguel Illescas has held the position of editor at Revista Peon de Rey since 2000 and has been the CEO of CHESS EDUCATION AND TECHNOLOGY SL since January 1999. Additionally, Miguel Illescas directs EDAMI and co-owns Ajedrez21, both of which have been ongoing since 1999 and 1996 respectively. Miguel Illescas was also an advisor for IBM's Deep Blue Team from 1996 to 1997.
