Nathan Donelson

Nathan Donelson has been working in the biology field since 2008. Nathan began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Brandeis University, where they designed and executed scientific research in Drosophila genetics, neurobiology, and behavior. Nathan also developed a technique for use in motion tracking video analyses for Drosophila sleep and locomotion. In 2014, they joined Biogen as a Scientist I, where they worked in early discovery neurology research that focused on evaluating genetic targets and modifiers for the treatment of Parkinson's Disease. Theirwork at Biogen involved the making of inducible SH-SY5Y cell lines using the Gateway T-REx system for protein expression for different mutations of the alpha Synuclein gene, as well as optimizing cell toxicity assays, evaluating quantified protein expression, and using Phenix high content imaging to look for aggregate clearance and mitochondrial stress. In 2017, they became a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School. Finally, in 2018, they took on the role of Biology Labs Operations Manager at LabCentral.

Nathan Donelson obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Zoology/Animal Biology from Siena Heights University between 1997 and 2001. Nathan then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy - PhD in Behavioral Neuroscience from Bowling Green State University, which they completed in 2007.
