Ken Van Buul has extensive work experience in various management roles.
From 2020 to the present, they served as the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) for Lac La Biche County.
Prior to that, from 2018 to 2019, they were the General Manager of Strategic Initiatives at Parkland County, where they led change management and strategy initiatives, ensuring long-term sustainability for the organization.
From 2016 to 2018, they served as the General Manager of Corporate Services at Parkland County, providing leadership in areas such as corporate communications, health and safety, information technology, legal and legislative administration, and human resources.
From 2012 to 2016, they held the position of General Manager of Community Services at Parkland County.
Ken Van Buul attended the University of Alberta from 1985 to 1988, where they studied Recreation Administration. Ken did not obtain a degree during their time at the university. In addition to their university studies, Ken also obtained certifications in Applied Land Use Planning from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Extension, and in Certified Local Government Managers from the Society of Local Government Managers.
