John Bultema

John Bultema III is an accomplished executive in the financial services sector, currently serving as President & CEO of Columbus Life Insurance Company and Lafayette Life Insurance Company since October 2020 and November 2019, respectively. Bultema has extensive experience, previously holding the role of Senior Vice President - Institutional Markets at Western & Southern Financial Group, where a new business unit was created to serve commercial clients in Pension Risk Transfer and Bank Owned Life Insurance markets. Prior to this, Bultema spent over two decades at Fifth Third Bank, advancing through various leadership positions including Executive Vice President of Currency Processing & Treasury Management and leading the Business Banking Division. Bultema's educational background includes an M.B.A. in Finance from Western Michigan University and earlier studies at Grand Valley State University.
