Matthew Ellsworth has extensive experience in the animation industry, currently serving as a Replacement Animation Tester at LAIKA, LLC since October 2016, where responsibilities include testing stop-motion puppet faces and making necessary adjustments for smoother animation. Previously, Matthew worked as a Facial Animator on the film Kubo and the Two Strings, delivering character facial performances using Maya. Earlier roles at LAIKA included Track Reader for The Boxtrolls, where detailed phonetic breakdowns were organized for stop-motion animation, and RP Quality Assurance for ParaNorman, where Matthew refined 3D printed puppet faces. Additionally, experience includes a freelance role as a Stop-Motion Animator at De Carlo Studios and a Production Coordinator position at Magnetic Image. Matthew holds an educational background from the Academy of Art University, where studies spanned from 2006 to 2009.
