Molly McCandless

Molly McCandless is an experienced animator with a diverse background in stop motion and animation. Currently working at LAIKA Studios since January 2023, Molly previously held the position of Animator at ShadowMachine from August 2019 to August 2022. Additional roles include Junior Armaturist for Film 6 at LAIKA, LLC, and various positions at ShadowMachine, including Rigger for Booksmart and Assistant Stop Motion Animator for the Happy Honda Days commercials and The Shivering Truth. Earlier experience includes stop motion animation at Starburns Industries for Cosmos Season 2 and an internship at LAIKA, LLC for Missing Link. Molly began the journey in animation at Aardman Animations as a Stop Motion Character Animation Student and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Animation from DePaul University, attended from 2008 to 2012.
