Stuart Maas has over 20 years of work experience in various roles in marketing, sales, and business development. Stuart is currently working as the Senior Director of Marketing & Business Development at Visit Lake Tahoe since 2016. In addition, Stuart co-founded Ski Rental Systems, Inc in 2011 and served as the Vice President until 2015. Stuart played a key role in developing an online reservation software platform for the outdoor and recreation industry, which was implemented in 50 stores nationwide.
Stuart also gained experience as a Resort Manager at Tui Travel PLC, where they managed all aspects of resort operations for ski vacation guests from the UK. Stuart worked at Tui Travel from 2001 to 2003.

Stuart Maas has a diverse educational background. From 1991 to 1997, they attended George Heriot's School, where they earned their A-Levels in Business, Design, and Manufacturing. Following this, Stuart pursued higher education at the University of Strathclyde from 1997 to 2001, earning a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Technology & Business Studies.
In 2003, Stuart enrolled at Lake Tahoe Community College and completed their studies in Wilderness Leadership, obtaining an Associate of Arts (AA) degree in 2015.
Additionally, Stuart has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2015, they became a Lake Tahoe Master Gardener through the University of California Cooperative Extension. In 2019, Stuart participated in the Leadership Lake Tahoe program conducted by Tahoe Chamber.
Moreover, Stuart holds certifications in AIARE Level 1 and AIARE Level 2 from the American Institute for Avalanche Research & Education. Stuart is also certified as an EMT-B by the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians and holds a Wilderness First Responder certification from Lake Tahoe Community College.
