Daan van Eek has been working in the legal field since 2005. Daan began their career as a Student Assistant at CIER (Centre for Intellectual Property Law) for Prof. Dr. M. at Utrecht University. Daan then worked as a Secretary-Assistant at IER in 2005. In 2008, they were an Intern at De Brauw Blackstone Westbroek. From 2009 to 2011, they worked as a Lawyer at Hoogenraad & Haak, advertising + IP advocaten. From 2011 to 2017, they were a Lawyer at Leeway Advocaten. Since 2020, they have been the General Counsel for Land Life Company, a global, large scale, technology-driven reforestation company, and Corporate Secretary for the Supervisory Board of Land Life Company.
Daan van Eek completed their high school education at Esdal College, earning a VWO in 2002. Daan then attended Utrecht University, where they earned a BA, LLB, and LLM in Communication- and Information Sciences, (Dutch) Private Law between 2002 and 2009. In 2005, they took a Minor Business Management and International Politics at Deakin University. In 2010, they completed a Verdiepingscursus Merken- en Modellenrecht in Intellectual Property Law at Leiden University.
