Jan Schindler

Jan Schindler is a Senior Researcher specializing in Remote Sensing and Data Science at Manaaki Whenua - Landcare Research since January 2018. Previously, Jan worked as a Python Developer at Catalyst IT Limited, and as a Ph.D. & Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, focusing on research related to trace gas emissions from soils using remote sensing instruments. Jan's early career includes an IT/GIS internship at GEOSPARC, IT administration at Ludwig-Maximilians Universität München, and a remote sensing/modelling internship at VISTA Remote Sensing in Geosciences GmbH. Jan holds a Ph.D. in Satellite Remote Sensing from the Max Planck Institute for Chemistry, a Master of Science in Earth Observation from KU Leuven, and a Bachelor of Science in Geography from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
