Joanie Proteau is a partner in Langlois Lawyers’ Quebec City office, where she is a member of the Insurance Law group. She practises primarily in the areas of general civil liability and professional liability, particularly in real estate and construction law matters.
Joanie advises clients in these areas on litigation strategy and represents them before the courts. She is attuned to the needs of her clients regarding alternative dispute resolution and settlement.
Since becoming a practising lawyer, Joanie has been actively involved in the legal community and the Quebec Bar. She was president of the Young Bar Association of Quebec City for 2012-2013 and currently teaches at the Quebec Bar’s professional training institute, the École du Barreau du Québec.
Joanie is also co-captain of the “Langlois Lawyers / Ateliers François Béroud” elite women’s ice-canoeing team, and a member of the Association des coureurs en canot à glace, the Quebec provincial ice-canoeing association.
She practises law in both languages English and French.
